My daughter has a new love in her life. It's called The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game from Educational Insights. From the box that it arrives in, to the squirrel squeezers, this game just oozes cuteness! When it comes to kids, however, cuteness alone doesn't hold their attention long. Luckily, this game is so much fun!
The game comes with 4 logs which look wooden, but are actually very sturdy cardboard, a squirrel squeezer (works like tweezers), 20 acorns in 5 different colors, a spinner, and easy game play instructions. Even the box it is stored in is shaped like a tree!
The object of the game is to be the first one to fill your log with acorns! The trick? You have to follow the spinner's directions. If you spin a 1 or a 2, you can add any 1 or 2 acorns you wish to your log. You have to hope you pick the right colors! If you spin and get the "Sneaky Squirrel," you get to steal someone else's acorn. Of course, this is my daughter's favorite part of the game! If you get the "Sad Squirrel," you lose a turn. A "Squirrel Storm" means you lose ALL your acorns when they're blown away in the storm. My daughter laughs hysterically when I land on the storm. She screams "tornado" and turns my log upside down so all my acorns fall back inside the tree box.
My daughter is 5, so she already knows her numbers and colors. For her, the important educational part of the game is learning to take turns and learning to follow directions. In the begining, she would try to spin again when she landed on a color she didn't need for her acorn collection, but she is learning to follow the rules. We have played it daily since receiving it. I have to admit, I enjoy this game. My daughter's friends are loving it as well!
I wish every young child and pre-school classroom as well as kindergarten classroom could have this game. This game helps children develop matching, sorting, strategic thinking, hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, and following directions.
You can purchase this game on Educational Insights' website, or on Amazon! If you'd like to win your own Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game, follow the instructions on the form below! Good luck!

ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for the fantastic review. I invented this game and searched high and low for the perfect artist. I was standing in a Starbucks and saw the CUTEST cookie boxes ever. After scouring the internet and design blogs, I found her. She lives in Italy and is a joy to work with.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy your daughter loves the game as much as I do.
