My 5 year old absolutely adores this microscope from Educational Insights.  I'm a proud Science nerd, and I hope she grows to love Science as much as I do.  I leave this microscope down on a lower shelf in her playroom so she can access it as she pleases.  She loves to listen to the bug facts and take the quizzes.  

The slides are separate from the microscope, so you have to make sure you supervise your child when he/she cleans up so that slides don't go missing.  I do hope they expand beyond just the 12 slides that come with the miscrope.  My daughter loves the bugs, but we'd love to further our exploration with other slides as well!  Also, in case some slides are misplaced, I'd like knowing I can order replacements.

Don't let the lightweight feel of the microscope fool you!  It is very well made. It is made for 5 year olds by a company who knows 5 year olds!

I love that even if the batteries are dead, you can still use the microscope.  You won't have light or voice, but you can still use the magnifier.

I love science! I always have. I was very excited to get the chance to review this GeoSafari® Talking Electron Microscope™ from Educational Insights, and am very happy with the microscope!  The biggest plus is that there are no loose pieces.  The information and the slides are built right into the microscope!  Convenient, huh? The microscope's voice is very clear and easy to understand.  There are 180 images and 300 facts, which will keep a child (or a grown up) interested for a long time!  I love doing the quiz method and seeing who can get the most right!  

The microscope is lightweight.  Since I often have a house full of younger kids, I keep this high up on a shelf.  Being lightweight make it easy to pull out when we're ready to use it.  It also has volume control, which is ALWAYS a plus.

This is an adorable game from Educational Insights! My 5 year old and I love to play it. Her friends run to it when they come over. Our favorite part of the game is when we pull the sock out of the dryer. My daughter immediately plugs her nose and says "EWW! SMELLY SOCK!" and the giggling commences!

The game comes with 11 items of doll sized clothes (washable), 30 games featuring full-color illustrations , and a fabric dryer. Dryer measures 8" x 6.5" x 10" The player takes a card, reaches in the dryer and tries to find the correct piece of clothing depicted on the card. No peeking allowed! You have to use only your sense of touch. If you pull out the right item of clothing, you keep your card. Get it wrong & the card goes to the bottom of the pile.
